HumpDashians -- sure looked like a winner.

"She’s a fame whore for hire who became fabulously wealthy not for her looks, brains, sex appeal or talent. But for the super-sized quality of her protruding butt. He’s tall, dark, athletic and exceptionally, stupendously, over-the-top dumb. The only mystery remaining is how any human so lacking in brain function could summon the ability to walk upright. On paper, the marriage between the iconic pair, Kim Kardashian, already a divorcée at 31, and Kris Humphries, a pup of 26 -- the short-lived HumpDashians -- sure looked like a winner. For here was a phony, cooked-up union, sold to an unwitting public as a real-life fairy tale. Now we know that the marriage was a complete and utter sham. It was a pairing born in an agent’s office, and spawned in amoral Hollywood. Then, it drove to the finish line wrapped in a dank hell where sacred, holy matrimony is nothing more than a cynical money-making enterprise." Not only was Andrea Peyser's piece on point, but it's finally good to see someone come out and speak the truth. Reality TV is not REALITY... LET'S SEE WHO STANDS UP TO SHOW REAL IN THE WORLD.

Meagan Good Replacing Stacey Dash On VH1′s Single Ladies?

Meagan Good Replacing Stacey Dash On VH1′s Single Ladies?

Will Meagan Good replace Stacey Dash on the hit scripted VH1 series Single Ladies? Last week Stacey Dash released a statement confirming her departure from the show. There were rumors of Stacey Dash being fired due to diva antics. In her statement she revealed the reason was due to the show being filmed in Atlanta. Stacey would rather be in LA with her kids.

Word on the street is Meagan Good has been offered to replace Stacey Dash. It has been a pretty good year for Meagan Good who had two movies released this year, “Jumping The Broom” and “35 And Ticking” and a reoccurring role on BET’s hit series “The Game.” The hasn’t been any official word from VH1 on who will replace Stacey Dash as of yet.

Do you guys think Meagan Good can fill Stacey Dash’s shoes.

Black-owned banks are struggling to remain relevant

Black-owned banks are struggling to remain relevant and during difficult economic times, according to a report by HuffingtonPost.com

The number of black-owned banks across the nation is shrinking– almost half of the banks closed in the past two decades.

HuffingtonPost.com reports:

Their traditional customer base — lower and middle class blacks, small business owners and churches — has been disproportionately affected by high unemployment, leaving customers with less money to deposit and, in turn, leaving many of these smaller financial institutions with less capital to reinvest in their communities. As customers have fallen on hard times or fallen behind in their loan repayments or mortgages, home foreclosures have become a nagging issue, hamstringing banks’ portfolios with toxic loans

Omar Bin Laden, Osama Bin Laden Son: Sea Burial Demeaning, Killing

A statement purporting to come from a son of Osama bin Laden denounced the al Qaeda leader's killing as "criminal" and said his burial at sea had humiliated the family, an online monitoring service said.
The statement, attributed to Omar bin Laden, bin Laden's fourth eldest son, said the al Qaeda chief's children reserved the right to take legal action in the United States and internationally to "determine the true fate of our vanished father," the SITE Intelligence Group said.

Five million Facebook users are 10 or younger

Five million Facebook users are 10 or younger
May 10, 2011 6:00 AM
More than 5 million children ages 10 and under—well below Facebook’s minimum age of 13—use the service, Consumer Reports has found in its 2011 State of the Net Survey.
The survey, included in our just-released report, also found that those kids’ Facebook accounts were largely unsupervised by their parents, exposing the children to malware or serious threats such as predators or bullies.
The report found that at least 7.5 million children—more than one-third of the 20 million minors who actively used Facebook in the past year—were under 13 and violated the site’s terms, which prohibit kids that young from joining.
The full survey results and advice for parents of Facebook users, is featured in the report, the June issue of Consumer Reports, and at ConsumerReports.org.

Part of staying fresh is being responsible for your childs educatuon.

Part of staying fresh is being responsible for your childs educatuon. I watched a 5 year old use Rosetta stone for the first time.  She didn't Practice spanish any other time, yet she was a natural at it.  At the top of her class,  class as in,  whole 1st grade. And she gets the directions from her very caring mother.  Her mother cared that she learn to read before she was able to read.  If you can understand that. Made sure that not only did she do her homework, but underdstood what she was doing. Giving her smarts that she could apply to everything she  may run into in life.
I'm gonna add more later.

How to Make Your PC as Fast as the Day You Bought It

How to Make Your PC as Fast as the Day You Bought It

How to Make Your PC as Fast as the Day You Bought It
One of the most frustrating things in life is a slow computer.
Every few years, we buy an expensive new PC and love how fast it starts up, runs programs, and loads websites.  Inevitably though, it starts to slow down until eventually we are pulling our hair out waiting for it to do routine tasks.
Why is this?  It turns out the answer is actually quite simple and you don't even need to be "technical" to understand the causes and solutions.
The good news: It's not the computer hardware that's the problem.  In most cases, the hardware you have is perfectly capable of being restored to its original glory and kept in fast running condition with minimal effort.
Rather, the problem lies with changes that occur to the PC's software.  The two most common causes of slowdown (along with easy solutions) are:
1. The most common problem: registery errors
Every time you (or your kids) load a program, game, or file, your PC's software registery is updated with new instructions needed to operate that item.  However, when the item is removed, these instructions usually remain on your PC.  Every time you run your computer it tries to execute these instructions but, because the related program can't be found, it causes a registry error.  Your PC is doing a lot more work than it should be and the result is a significantly slower computer.
One of the best ways to manage this is with a neat little tool from Support.com, a Silicon Valley based company.  It's called ARO 2011 and it scans, identifies, and fixes registry errors--resulting in a computer that's a lot more like it was when you first bought it.  On top of the amazing results it offers, it's so easy to install and use that it was recently awarded a coveted 4.5 star rating (out of 5) by CNET's editorial staff and has been downloaded more than 30 million times.
You can now get a free working version of the software which will quickly scan your entire PC and identify all of the registry errors that may be bogging it down.  The free version also scans for junk and checks your PC's baseline security status.  It will eliminate the first 100 errors for free, and if you have more errors that you want to clean up or want to set the program to run on a regular basis (which is recommended), you can easily upgrade to the full version for just $29.95.  After that, registry errors will no longer be a problem.
To get the free version simply click here.
2. Spyware and viruses
Spyware and viruses are software programs that are loaded on your computer without your knowledge or permission.  They have various purposes, including:
  • Changing the default search engine in your browser.
  • Tracking your Web surfing habits and showing you targeted advertising.
  • Using your email program to send out spam to other email addresses.
  • Stealing your personal information.
Most spyware and viruses get onto our computers through files that we download from the Internet or as attachments to emails.  They tend to take up a lot of computing power and, as a result, will significantly slow down your computer.
The simple rule of thumb to follow is to never download any free software programs from companies you do not know and trust, especially screensavers, emoticons, and the like.  In addition, you should never open any attachment to an email unless you are 100 percent certain you know and trust the sender.  In addition, make sure you have a good anti-virus/spyware removal software running at all times.
Follow the above advice and your PC should stay fast and safe.

law enforcement authorities are more and more commonly requesting e-mail, instant-message, and cell-phone location data, despite the gray area surrounding whether or not providers have to give up this information.

Law enforcement agencies vacuum up data online, lack reporting procedures

I read your e-mail
Police and other agencies are deferring to the Internet for investigation purposes - and a new paper points out is no required report for this activity.
A doctoral candidate at Indiana University has published a paper claiming that law enforcement authorities are more and more commonly requesting e-mail, instant-message, and cell-phone location data, despite the gray area surrounding whether or not providers have to give up this information.
Christopher Soghoian’s paper, titled The Law Enforcement Surveillance Reporting Gap, alleges that there “are likely hundreds of thousands” of requests for information and that while this has become generally accepted and known, we should be more concerned about this type of activity being monitored and recorded. Soghoian points out that Congress requires law enforcement agents to document wiretapping, but for some reason snooping over the Internet hasn’t fallen under the same type of scrutiny. Of course, this has pushed investigation to the Web, where authorities have more freedoms.
As it currently stands, there is no official reporting method when it comes to various methods of electronic communication surveillance. And the information is largely being given to officials by Internet providers and phone carriers alike. “Unfortunately, many companies, particularly those with the close ties to the government, will not discuss their disclosure of user data to law enforcement agencies,” Soghoian says. “ The reason for this widespread secrecy appears to be a fear that such information may scare users and give them reason to fear that their private information is not safe.” AOL, Facebook, Google, Sprint, and Time Warner are only a few of the companies that have admitted to receiving massive amounts of police requests for user information.
Of course, there is reason for this type of investigation. Investigating drug and child pornography cases account for “the majority” of this type of surveillance. But the act itself isn’t what’s being held up as ludicrous – it’s the fact that law enforcement agencies aren’t being required to create statistical reports of these actions.
While that sort of legislation hasn’t made it very far in Congress, politicians continue to lobby for increased consumer control of data-collection. Bloomberg reports that Senators John Kerry and John McCain introduced a new bill today that would let consumers mandate whether or not businesses stored their information. The bill would not include the heatedly debated “do-not-track” stipulation.

If you are serious about messaging and social networking, the Sidekick 4G is the perfect tool for you. The handset has a 49-button QWERTY keyboard with rounded keys hidden underneath the display that snaps open and close with a precision and well-built slider mechanism. It looks so sleek, so retro.
But the Sidekick 4G is the first of its line that has a touchscreen, and that’s definitely not retro.  Neither is a 1 GHz Cortex A8 Samsung Hummingbird processor, so it is far faster than its Sidekick predecessors are.
Speaking of speed, the Sidekick 4G can use the T-Mobile4G HSPA+ network for blindingly fast downloads.
The Samsung Sidekick 4G is running Android 2.2 Froyo and a customized UI and it gives you access to the Android Market with hundreds of thousands of apps.
Naturally, it is preloaded with social networking apps.
If you have been a Sidekick devotee, you should relay like this.  In fact you will probably fall in love with it all over again.

Adobe's Upcoming Photoshop Apps: What to Know, and What it Means

Adobe's Upcoming Photoshop Apps: What to Know, and What it Means

iOS Photoshop Apps
Adobe today announced another evolution in Photoshop, their image editing software. Photoshop has for many years been the standard for professional graphics designers, and we don't see that changing in the immediate future. It's one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful image editing tools available, and everyone from graphic designers for print and web to 3D texture artists use Adobe's flagship software for getting work done. That's why, when Adobe does something that involves Photoshop, it gets users' attention. This one involves Photoshop and iOS, so it definitely gets our attention.
Let's take a look at what's coming with Adobe's release, and how this matter for the mobile platform:
1) Photoshop Touch SDK
This is one of the more interesting parts of the news to come from Adobe. It's the a free Software Development Kit (SDK) that makes it possible for developers to create software on other mobile platforms such as Android and BlackBerry.

2) It's Actually Affordable
Usually, affordable and Photoshop don't fit in the same sentence. The Photoshop Apps will only run $1.99-$4.99. One is Adobe Color Lava, the other is Adobe Eazel and the third is Adobe Nav. That means that even though the software like Photoshop CS5 runs $699 and CS5 extended is (ouch) $999, these little add-ons are reasonably priced.

This is Interesting Because...
It's narrowing the gap between the desktop and the tablet. Much like the recent GarageBand update, which made it possible to open files created on the iPad with GarageBand for Mac, this will allow users to create files on their iPad and open them in Photoshop. This can make for a great tool for Photoshop artists. Someone could easily start their basic painting while away from the computer and open it up when they get to their desktop. Perhaps working with their fingertips is easier, or they are away from the computer.
Really, that's just the beginning. It may be the start of software being fully able to integrate with a tablet or mobile device.

3) Wait...What's That? Photoshop May Be Affordable?
Looks like Photoshop may be affordable now. They are introducing a subscription plan in which a user can pay a monthly fee and get to use the software on a subscription basis. It's not clear whether this can be somewhat of a "rent to own" type plan, but that would be interesting as we'd like to see an easy way to purchase the software for the more budget-concious consumer.

The Evolution of Software
Because of hardware like tablets and services like the Mac App Store, it seems that software may become more affordable over time. It also seems that the gap between tablet and desktop is getting smaller. Adobe realizes this and is pushing forward with it. They are also making their major software packages available to users who want to pay by the month. That's a great way for users to use the software without having to commit $700 immediately.

Dream Job Posting: Spaceship Pilots Wanted

Dream Job Posting: Spaceship Pilots Wanted

Some might do a double take at this job posting, but it is legit. Virgin Galactic announced today they are looking for pilot-astronauts and are now accepting applications…from qualified candidates. High scores on Aces of the Galaxy or Space Flight Simulator probably doesn’t meet the criteria, so just what does constitute Virgin Galactic’s idea of qualified?

Virgin’s press release says qualified candidates are full course graduates of a recognized test pilot school who are broadly experienced with both high-performance fast-jet type airplanes and large multi-engine types. Prior spaceflight experience is desirable. You’ll also have to be able to create a safe and enjoyable commercial suborbital space flight experience for your passengers.
Those selected will have the responsibilities of knowing the WhiteKnightTwo and SpaceShipTwo spaceflight system test program in and out (and in accordance with government regulations and company policies in Mojave, California where test flights take place and Virgin Galactic’s commercial operations at Spaceport America in New Mexico.)

A new single from Brown’s upcoming album leaked to the internet recently

http://theurbandaily.com/music/theurbandailystaff2/bobby-brown-get-out-the-way-audio/

While his ex-wife, Whitney Houston, seems to have gotten her act together, can Bobby Brown put his cocaine addict days behind him as well? A new single from Brown’s upcoming album leaked to the internet recently, and it’s really not as bad as you would think!
“Get Out The Way” shows the “King Of R&B” (Houston’s words, not ours…) over a rather current sounding beat, and honestly we’re not used to hearing a male R&B singer that sounds like he’s already gone through puberty over a beat like this.
“Get Out The Way” is the first new song we’ve heard from Brown since another equally decent track called “Damaged” leaked in 2009.

Top 10 Ways to Rock Your Resumé

Top 10 Ways to Rock Your Resumé

Whitson Gordon — Top 10 Ways to Rock Your Resume Whether you're looking for a new job or just pruning up your paperwork, one of the keys to nabbing the job you want is creating a successful resumé. Here are our top 10 ways to make sure yours stands out.

10. Start with a Big List, and Then Shorten It

Full size
We know keeping your resumé brief is important, but one of the best ways to make sure your resumé is as good as possible is to start long. Make a plain text document of all the possible information you might include, and then pare it down from there. You're less likely to forget anything important, and it will also come in handy if you ever need to tweak it for different job opportunities. Photo by Brandi Sims.

9. Know What Not to Include

Full size
When it comes time to narrow down your giant list of accomplishments, you'll want to make sure you're including the most important stuff. You definitely want to get rid of not-so-notable accomplishments, and anything outdated can probably go too. There are also a lot of phrases that are just wasting ink on the page, and you should get rid of those too. Photo by Jon Tunn.

8. Avoid Overused Phrases

Full size
If you want to make your resumé stand out, you're going to want to avoid canned phrases like "team player", "strong work ethic", and "innovative". We've gone through lists of tired phrases on more than one occasion, so make sure you check out every list to clean out the clichés. Photo by Muffet.

7. Quantify Your Accomplishments

Full size
Instead of filling your resumé with the aforementioned canned phrases, pick something quantifiable. Anything you can describe with numbers demonstrates something real and tangible that your potential employers can see. Saying you "increased sales by 300 percent" (and mentioning how you did so) is much better than saying you "exceeded expectations". 6. Find the Keywords Your Employer is Looking for and Use Them

Top 10 Ways to Rock Your ResuméNowadays, so many people are passing their resumés around that sometimes they don't even get read. Instead, HR folks are scanning them for relevant keywords, like names of computer programs you know. Making sure these are somewhere on your resumé increase its chances of getting seen and actually read, not just glossed over. Photo by Frank Jania.

5. Strategically Tweak Your Dates of Employment

Full size
Employers aren't usually too fond of job-hoppers, so if you've had a few recent jobs instead of a steady one, you might want to try and pull attention away from that fact. One of the best ways to do that is strategically format your resumé to highlight the jobs, not the dates. Using only years to describe employment terms, for example, looks better than the more specific month-and-year approach. Photo by simplyrikkles.

4. Try a Visual Slideshow or Video Resumé

toshiba_cam.jpgWhile many employers will prefer the simple, single-page list of accomplishments, lots of others would prefer to see your personality and accomplishments more in-depth through a slideshow or video resumé. Make sure you make it worth their while, of course—if your slideshow is just as boring as your text-based resumé would be, you're not doing yourself any favors. And of course, check with the HR department before sending something like this in to make sure it's okay. Photo by airgap.

3. Don't Use it Until the End of the Interview Process

Top 10 Ways to Rock Your ResuméSome employers may request your resumé at the beginning, but if they don't, consider holding off. It's too easy for a potential employer to scan your resumé and reject you. If you wait to hand in your resumé until the end, you'll be forced to show yourself off in other ways, and keep your potential employers thinking about something else beyond the dull checklist of accomplishments. 2. Use Multiple Resumés for Different Potential Jobs

Full size
If you're applying for multiple jobs, even if they're in the same field, you may not want to use the same resumé for each job. Tailor your resumé to each specific job you apply for, and send a unique resumé out for each one. We've highlighted some software that helps you do this without pulling your hair out, so there's no reason to give each employer a cookie-cutter list of the same experiences.

1. Proofread from the Bottom Up

Full size
When you're done and ready to send your resumé in, you will want to proofread it for errors (of course). There are a lot of ways to make sure you proofread it well (like printing it out), but one of the more interesting ways we've seen is to read it from the bottom up. This way, you'll make sure you don't skip over any sections, and will also help you see things from an angle other than the one you've already written and proofread it fifteen times. Billups, Amar'e, Melo lead Knicks past LeBron and Heat, 91-86

Billups, Amar'e, Melo lead Knicks past LeBron and Heat, 91-86

Patrick Ewing, Larry Johnson and Allan Houston would have been proud. The Knicks rallied from a 15-point first-half deficit to stun the Miami Heat, 91-86, Sunday night in their signature victory of the season. In the last 10 seconds, LeBron James had a potential go-ahead layup blocked by Amar'e Stoudemire, then misfired an open 3-pointer that would have tied the game.

How 'bout hardware -- what kind of specs does this bad boy have?

Motorola Xoom Hardware

The Xoom has a 10.1-inch, 1280-by-800 display. It runs on a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 1GHz processor with 1GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and SD card support for additional storage space. The Xoom comes with a 5MP rear-facing camera and a 2MP front-facing camera for video chat (which Honeycomb natively supports via Google's Google Talk system). The tablet records 720p HD video and supports 1080p playback. It has HDMI and USB 2.0 ports. And according to Motorola, its Android battery life can give you up to 10 hours of video playback on a single charge.

Is It Really Necessary to Update Windows?

Is It Really Necessary to Update Windows?

Although it's perfectly natural to get annoyed by Windows' seemingly endless ‘New updates are available' alerts, it's not a good idea to ignore them. You do so at your own risk.

The vast majority of updates (which arrive on your system courtesy of the Windows Update tool) deal with security. Microsoft routinely patches newly discovered holes, adds malware definitions to its Windows Defender and Security Essentials utilities, bolsters Office security, and so on. And don't forget the occasional Windows hotfix, which may address serious issues such as random system lockups.

In other words, yes, it's absolutely necessary to update Windows. But it's not necessary for Windows to nag you about it every time.

Step by Step
Step 1. To make Windows Update work mostly behind the scenes, click Start, type Windows Update, and press Enter. (In Windows XP, head to the Control Panel and seek out Windows Update.)

Step 2. Next, click the Change Settings option, and choose Install updates automatically. Click OK to finish the process. Now, the only time you'll hear from Windows Update is when it requires a reboot.
